Leicester City are seemingly destined for the title to the dismay of fans of other teams.
If this team wins the league, they will be one of the greatest stories ever written in world football. The Foxes have surpassed expectations and surprised everyone including themselves. Despite their good performances throughout the season, many people are still skeptical about their chances of winning the title.
However, their recent results have shown that they have marks of champions written all over them. They played against Stoke City, Liverpool, and Manchester City in the past few weeks and won all these games, scoring 8 goals and conceding only one.
In their game against Man City, The Foxes added to their list of impressive performances coupled by the fact that Manchester City did not compete. Man City defended badly. They lost the game because they couldn’t defend. In addition, Leicester City played brilliant football and capitalized on The Citizens’ inability to defend well. They made Man City pay for their mistakes, especially the mistakes of Martin Demichelis.
This is not the kind of defending to expect from a team that spends lots of money. The Citizens have spent £292.2m on players including £42m for defender, Eliaquim Mangala whose performances throughout the season haven’t matched his price tag.
Leicester City have made huge progress in the last one year, especially with the appointment of Claudio Ranieri. In light of their performances the entire season, it’s no longer a question of if but when Leicester City will win the league. They have incredible intensity.
They break forward and attack with great intensity coupled by ferocious defense. In their game against Man City, Drinkwater was simply immense running all over the place while other players effectively covered for each other.
Leicester City have an advantage in the title run-in as compared to their closest rivals. Their significant advantage is that the team only has one competition to focus on i.e. the Barclays Premier League.
Unlike other contenders, The Foxes don’t have many games left, which means they have enough time to recover and prepare for their games. Actually, Leicester City only has 13 games left in the season.
All these games are in the league. Therefore, we are quite sure what to expect from them. Their incredible intensity and brilliant performances will continue to the end of the season.
So, if you are a fan of the other teams (especially their closest challengers) and are busy hating on Leicester City, it’s time to think again. They will win the league. Leicester is simply attacking with intensity and defending ferociously!
